Call for Event Proposals

Submit your event ideas for a chance to get selected for TAP-ATX co-marketing, funding, and/or event production support in 2025.
Guidelines
If your event idea is in the beginning stages of conception, feel free to submit it for consideration. Our officer and committee members may be able to help you build it out.
Events proposed should fall within the scope of TAP-ATX Goals and Missions below.
Our goals include enhancing the Taiwanese American community in Austin, Texas by networking individuals interested in professional and career development while emphasizing the preservation of the Taiwanese American identity. Our mission is to connect, grow, and empower the greater Austin community by providing quality resources and programs from the Taiwanese American perspective.
We are not currently considering social events without ties to our Mission/Goals for this call for event proposals
Events requesting monetary support are required to be co-marketed with TAP-ATX and open to sign-up to our members
For events that require registration fees, those fees cannot exceed $25 per person
Examples of event proposals could be but are not limited to:
Art Exhibit reception where the artist is Taiwanese American
Book/Reading club around Taiwanese/Taiwanese American-authored books
Cooking event/club potluck using iconic Taiwanese foods, ingredients, tools (e.g. Tatung, aiyu jelly, etc)
Film Discussion club
Mentoring event with Taiwanese American youth
Workshop/panel that features Taiwanese Americans
Heritage-based events
Taiwanese Trash Truck building contest of recycled materials for Arbor Day
Taiwanese-rules Mahjong game event
Mid-Autumn Festival Pool Party w/ Taiwanese style moon cakes
What TAP-ATX offers/provides
We operate under the Taiwanese American Citizens League national 501c3 Nonprofit. We will be able to arrange or discuss nonprofit resources, discounts and potential donations to events
Over 15 years of event planning and community building experience in Austin, TX among our current officers and alumni
Depending on the type of event proposed, we have a small budget capacity of up to $250 per event that can be designated
Our network includes business owners or other organizations we can negotiate space to host an event, workshop or panel
