We take attendee safety seriously at TAP-ATX and TACL. Our Conduct & Sexual Harrassment Reporting Policies are below.
TAP-ATX Conduct Policy
All TAP-ATX attendees and participants are expected to treat each other and themselves with respect. We intend for our programs to be free of harassment, discrimination, sexism, and threatening or disrespectful behavior. We reserve the right to revoke, without notice or refund, access to our events (locally and nationally) to those who engage in such conduct.
Attendees who experience any of the above at any point during our event are encouraged to immediately notify a TAP-ATX officer or submit complaints & concerns to info@tap-atx.org.
TACL Policy Against Sexual Harassment at Events
Taiwanese American Citizens League is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment at all of our events and does not tolerate sexual harassment in any form. Participants who engage in sexual harassment at an event may be expelled from the event and banned from future events. TACL may take other action in response to incidents of sexual harassment, including reporting the matter to venue security or local law enforcement and providing safety escorts to participants during the event. Action taken to enforce this policy will occur after an investigation with notice and an opportunity to be heard for the accused unless TACL determines that the immediate safety or security of participants or other individuals may be at risk. If such safety or security is at risk, TACL may take action without providing notice or conducting an investigation, including contacting relevant law enforcement authorities.
Sexual harassment includes, but is not limited to:
Inappropriate or unwelcome verbal or written comments of a sexual nature.
Inappropriate or unwelcome physical contact.
Unwelcome sexual attention.
Display of sexual images in public places.
Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following.
Taking, filming, or showing photography or video of a sexual nature or that is intended to offend, intimidate, threaten, or coerce.
If someone makes you or any participant feel unsafe or unwelcome at an event, please report it to TACL as soon as possible. You can submit a report of sexual harassment at the bottom of this page. Your report will be confidential and will be viewed by a few members of the TACL National Board, and others only as necessary to properly review and investigate the report. As part of the complaint reporting process, your identity will be kept confidential unless you authorize its disclosure. If you prefer, you may file a complaint anonymously. The complaint form will request information about the incident and the names of possible witnesses. Confrontation with the alleged harasser will not be required as part of the investigation process.
